A Peak 2 Peak Pictures film // with Final Cult Media

Coming in 2024!

Sammy Escalante is a long-time delivery cyclist who has experienced first-hand the dangers of the app-based food delivery industry. Every day in New York City, some 80,000 food delivery cyclists take to the streets to make their living. Mostly migrant workers with few labor rights, they risk traffic collisions, extreme weather, theft, and even murder. After discovering his passion for photography, Sammy has been using his art to celebrate the role of the deliveristas and raise awareness for their working conditions.

Wild Things

A DOCUMENTARY

Wild Thingsis a short documentary featuring wildlife rehabilitator Victoria Campbell. Victoria has had over 200 bats living in her Caroline, NY home this year alone. She has saved the lives of hundreds of bats over more than 10 years as a rehabilitator, but bats face more problems than she can solve. With bats facing deadly diseases, environmental problems, and human impact, Victoria has dedicated her life to the species no one else cares for.

As Assistant Multimedia Editor for Ithaca College’s award-winning student newspaper, I created these short docs about events, people, and programs on college campus and in the Ithaca community. The multimedia section won “Outstanding Section” that year, an immense honor on such a highly acclaimed publication.

The start of my love affair with videography, my high school film class taught me about filming, editing, and working on deadline. I ended up producing most of the show by my senior year, leading my film teacher to nickname the class ‘Edie’s Army.’
