Edie McRoberts
STORYTELLER • ADVENTURER • JOURNALIST
Edie McRoberts is a river guide and freelance documentary creator based in the western United States. Her adventures have taken her around the globe – from Oceania to Europe, and to thirty US national parks. At home on a riverbank, down a dirt road, or on a farm, Edie uses her travels to tell the stories she encounters in the most unexpected places.
No matter where she can be found on the globe, Edie is always looking for the best stories, the untold tales, and the soft voices. She has an eye for the tensions and beauties in the world around her. She is inspired by new perspectives, unique experiences, and golden sunlight. She believes in the power of storytelling to change minds and shape our world.
Edie’s creative work focuses on the environment and humanity’s connection to the natural world. Her recent films have won “Best Documentary” and “Audience Choice” awards at festivals. She continues to work on freelance projects, as well as personal stories, while traveling and working in the outdoor industry.
Edie’s outdoor experience began as a rookie river guide in the Colorado mountains. She has five seasons of river experience, including multi-day and expedition style trips in Dinosaur National Monument and around the Southwest. She is an experienced outdoor educator and leader who strives to share her love for wild places while supporting individuals to be their best selves.
